Critical Home Repair
Citical home repairs and modifications for low-income families and individuals in the Tricounty area. Work provided through this program primarily includes roof repair and replacement, floor repairs, building wheelchair ramps, and doing bathroom modifications. Nearly 100 families received critical home repairs and wheelchair ramps in 2018!
Heat Relief Program
Providing window air conditioning units for low-income families or individuals who have no other way to cool their home during the summer. The program runs from May through August (or as inventory lasts!) and serves all age groups. Nearly 250 families were served during summer 2018!
Cold Relief Program
Providing space heaters to low-income families or individuals who have no other way to heat their homes during the winter. More than 100 families and counting have been served during winter 2018/2019!

Low-Income Home Energy Assistance (LIHEAP)
The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) provides home energy assistance to help eligible low-income households meet their home heating and/or cooling needs.
Your Community Action Agency in your county may be able to offer you one or more of the following types of assistance:
- Utility bill payment assistance
- Energy crisis assistance
- Weatherization and energy-related home repairs
Project Share
Project Share provides assistance to low-income, disabled and elderly customers for their electric and natural gas service. SCE&G customers, employees and retirees generously fund the program.
The South Carolina’s Department of Administration’s Office of Economic Opportunity, through community action agencies, administers the program. To apply for assistance, contact your local community action agency.
Salvation Army Energy Assistance
The program is available year-round and provides support for customers with immediate energy assistance needs. Eligible SCE&G customers may receive one-time assistance per household per year with an annual cap of $500 per household. For more information, please contact Salvation Army Energy Assistance.
