Our Peer Mentoring Services are focused on the attainment of the highest level of independent living. Peer support is one of the many fundamentals for Centers of Independent Living.
We believe that individuals with disabilities can empower others by sharing resources and knowledge about living with a disability. AccessAbility is staffed with professionals with disabilities to help support and encourage the community in reaching their full potential. Our Peer Mentors provide personal experiences, feelings, and awareness regarding current disability issues.
The peer support relationship allows for the mentor to provide information and support as a positive role model to the mentee. Peer mentoring can help make a big difference in an individuals self-acceptance and advocacy.
